Brabham-Digital.com News Update – Project Brabham Crowdfunding Draws to a Close

This first stage Brabham-Digital website has recently undergone a few changes to reflect that the Project Brabham crowdfunding phase has now closed and contributions are no longer being accepted via the Indiegogo InDemand scheme.

The pioneering new model for racing was launched through the Project Brabham crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo in late 2014 – exceeding our target to become one of the biggest successfully funded sports campaigns across the globe. The bold racing model that makes motorsport more accessible, more transparent and more engaging to fans, partnered with the incomparable heritage of the Brabham brand struck a chord worldwide, raising contributions from over 3,000 people from 64 countries.

The Project Brabham vision, which has captured the backing and passion of thousands of fans, drivers and engineers signing up to be a part of the new Brabham Racing team through interactive and experiential activities that will lead the way in modern motorsport, has not changed.

We are still committed to fulfilling all the crowdfunding obligations and subscriptions, which will happen when the investment needed to launch the race team and build the proper Brabham-Digital platform has been secured.

The minor changes to Brabham-Digital.com simply reflect that we are no longer accepting crowdfunding contributions. Great progress has been made towards our objective of bringing Brabham back to racing and, for now, we need a period of focus to make this happen.

David Brabham commented: “I’ve been working to bring the Brabham name back for a long time. The launch of Project Brabham was the catalyst in putting the spotlight back on this iconic brand with over 69 years of unrivalled racing heritage. Our crowdfunding campaign broke records and helped to prove the worldwide passion behind the brand and unique Brabham-Digital concept.

“For a number reasons, it has taken longer than we had hoped to secure the investment required to build the team and Brabham-Digital experiences. It’s nothing new for Brabham to try something new and there is no blueprint for what we are trying to achieve. We continue to evaluate key opportunities that will bring Brabham back to the global stage.

“Due to our crowdfunding success, we continued to accept contributions through the InDemand scheme on Indiegogo. It was never the plan to let that run indefinitely and now it’s it time to bring that phase to an end, so that we can focus on making the dream of bringing Brabham back a reality.”
