Brabham Senior Versus Junior - F1 Racing Five-A-Side Friendly

Brabham family rivalry was rife at the F1 Racing Fan Village and Whittlebury Park campsite on the outskirts of Silverstone circuit on Thursday evening, as Former F1 driver and triple Le Mans winner, David Brabham, went head-to-head in five-a-side footie against son, Formula Ford race winner Sam.
David, Sam and members of the Brabham team were also at Silverstone to spread the word on how F1 fans can be a part of rebuilding the house that Jack built, and gain unrivalled inside access as the iconic Brabham Racing team strives to come back and create motorsport history once again.
Winning the coin toss, Sam, grandson of triple Formula 1 World Champion Sir Jack, kicked off the match and the friendly family rivalry began!
With both teams oversubscribed with British GP fans wanting to join in the fun, the two squads rotated in rapid succession, providing an extremely fast paced and intense inaugural F1 Racing Fan Village Football Challenge game.
Brabs senior soon recovered from the coin call to open with a strong start and take an early 2-1 lead.
But some fancy footwork by the junior side saw Sam's crew soon claw back the difference amid the fiercely fought contest.
With the scores all even at 4-4, the 'just for fun' five-a-side match went down to the wire with a tense penalty shoot-out.
Although both teams proved closely matched right up to the very last penalty attempts, it was Brabham junior - 20 year-old Sam's team that eventually emerged the victors.
Massive thanks go to the F1 Racing team for such a fun filled evening.

David will be joining more fun and games at the F1 Racing Fan Village Pavilion on Saturday night at the first ever Rockaoke night. For more details visitwww.f1racingfanvillage.com
