Project Brabham Makes History As Biggest Successful Sports Crowdfunding Campaign

Thanks to the outstanding support of fans, drivers and engineers across the globe, Project Brabham has now become the biggest successfully funded sports campaign across any known, major English speaking crowdfunding platform.
After becoming the most successfully funded sports campaign on Indiegogo earlier this week by hitting its initial target six days ahead of deadline, it took less than five days for Project Brabham to raise the additional £20,000 and secure its place in the record books. The previous known highest sports campaign was the project to build a permanent home for the Portsmouth Football Club Academy on Tifosy, which raised £270,000 earlier this year.

David Brabham's open source racing model to return the iconic Brabham Racing team to the world's racetracks currently stands at £271,058 thanks to 2,812 contributions from 63 countries. Fans, drivers and engineers have until midnight (Pacific Time) this Saturday, 15 November, to join the team's inspirational new journey and enjoy exclusive crowdfunding perks.

Brabham Racing Team Principal, David Brabham commented: "It is astonishing to think it wasn't that long ago, when we launched Project Brabham, that we wondered if people would get behind Brabham's racing return in this new and innovative way. Having just officially broken the record of the biggest sporting campaign on any major crowdfunding platform is just amazing. It shows that already the team of people I have around me who helped create the idea and taking it to market are a special group.

"Brabham is a brand renowned for making history and it's just wonderful to see the team name back and already making waves on the world stage. But that wouldn't have been possible without the thousands of people who have contributed to our campaign. I thank and welcome each and every one of you to the team. Let our journey begin!"

Although Project Brabham is entering the final few hours of its first phase crowdfunding campaign, those contributing before midnight (PST) on Saturday can still get a three-year subscription to one of the three Brabham-Digital online experiences – Brabham-Fan, Brabham-Driver and Brabham-Engineer. Lifetime membership for all three is also available through the £500 ($800 USD $910 AUD) Founder package, of which 178 have been claimed.

It's also the last chance to get the exclusive Brabham Christmas Gift Box (for UK and overseas delivery in time for Christmas) or to ensure your name is on the first Brabham Racing team car. Other available perks include FIA WEC Hospitality packages, as well as the chance to become a Brabham Racing engineer at Le Mans.

Join the new Brabham Racing journey and become part of the team by visiting the Project Brabham Indiegogo crowdfunding page.
